Aged and Dignified – A-1 Home Care Respects Seniors

According to a study done by the UN in 2009, there is an estimated 455,000 centenarians in the world. A centenarian is a person who has reached the ripe old age of 100. Amazing! As the world ages and we discover more important knowledge on diseases, plants, the universe, etc. we increase the life expectancy for the seniors now and seniors to come.

As an elderly care agency, A-1 Home Care believes that old age deserves respect and recognition. Our Senior and Elderly caregivers hold the same beliefs and that’s why we’ve been given such rave reviews and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. We like to showcase the beauty of age and so we present some photographs of some beautiful centenarians taken by German photographer Karsten Thormaehlen.

Along with providing Senior and Elderly care, our 24 Hour caregivers can also administer assistance in the form of Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, Incontinence Care, and more! From Diabetic Care to  Heart Attack Care, our in home helpers are certified and professionally trained to manage all facets of elderly home care.

Caregiving for Stroke Victims in Anaheim Hills

a-1 home care

When an Elderly or Senior loved one suffers a stroke, it can be difficult for a family member to know how to be as supportive as possible in the aftermath.  You might not have too much knowledge about stroke except that it can be caused by having high blood pressure, eating poorly, or smoking.  A stroke occurs when brain tissue is deprived of oxygen because of a blood vessel clot (ischemic) or blood vessel burst (hemorrhagic).  Depending on the level of brain tissue damage your loved one suffered, recovery may be short term or long term and they may have to undergo rehabilitation for paralysis, memory/thinking, or speech/language complications.

When your loved one is ready to come home to live independently, they’ll most likely still need living assistance until they are able to complete tasks of daily living on their own.  While recovering, it’s important to follow doctor’s orders and lead a healthy lifestyle that will prevent a recurring stroke.  This section of the American Stroke Association’s site titled Healthy Living After Stroke serves as a great starting point resource in emphasizing the importance of nutrition and physical activity for post stroke survivors.  Check it out here.

It can be difficult to put aside work or other obligations to provide 24 hour care for a loved one who has just come home after emergency treatment or rehabilitation for a stroke.  At A-1 Home Care, we provide Post Stroke Care in Anaheim Hills, CA to help your loved one get their life back on track.  Our compassionate and experienced Post Stroke caregivers can assist with compliance of doctor/therapist orders, activities of daily living, personal care, exercise, and preparing nutritional meals.

Whether you need a caregiver for 24 hour Live-In Care or want to provide some of the care yourself and only need a caregiver for Hourly In Home Care on some days, we can accommodate any scheduling needs.

All of our compassionate caregivers, nurse aides, companions, and home helpers must have prior at home caregiving experience, verifiable professional references, a National Background Check/DMV Check, Tuberculosis testing, Malpractice/Liability insurance, First Aid/CPR training, and a personal interview with our office staff.

We serve the OC communities of Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, Brea, Corona, Fullerton, La Palma, Placentia, Villa Park, La Mirada, Tustin, Garden Grove, Westminster, and others in Orange County.
